An exceptional historical situation gave rise to an innovative musical concept that transformed distance into creative proximity.
Pianist Clara Vetter (DE), guitarist Håvard Funderud (NO), and bassist Petter Asbjørnsen (NO) continued their work during the pandemic by digitally exchanging musical fragments and developing them together. This form of intensive collaboration resembled a modern pen pal relationship.
The result was a live concept: while Vetter performed in Copenhagen, Funderud and Asbjørnsen controlled their laptops via Zoom from Oslo. Pre-recorded sound recordings were combined with Vetter's improvisation, allowing the trio to overcome conventions of space and time....

Today, the band is playing together on stage again. But the digital methods remain: a sampler with recordings of all three musicians allows improvisations with earlier versions of themselves—a collective performance beyond time and space.

Clara Vetter (*1996) discovered her passion for playing the piano at the age of three. At 15, she was a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Jazz Orchestra and, one year later, won first prize in the state competition “Jugend jazzt” in the category “Soloists over 16 years of age.”
In 2018, she completed her bachelor's degree in jazz piano at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and won the Stuttgart Steinway & Sons Sponsorship Award in the same year. She then completed a master's degree in music performance at the Copenhagen Conservatory. In 2022, she performed with her Norwegian-German band “Letters From Nowhere” in Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Cologne. In the summer of 2022, she began teaching at the Basel Music Academy (CH) and won the German Federal Jazz Orchestra's composition competition the following fall. In 2023, she was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Prize, one of the most prestigious jazz prizes in Germany.
