To make one's own compositions sound, Marko Mebus, one of the up-and-coming trumpeters of the German scene, follows this need in this formation. Through the individuality of the prize-bearing musicians, the overall picture gains in expression and the compositions in life, a tightrope walk between tradition and modernity emerges from thoughts on paper, so the line-up sometimes indulges in the sound of the old greats, sometimes sounds a tribute to the pioneers of ECM jazz such as Kenny Wheeler, Ralph Towner and John Taylor - and then again the music of the young quintet takes its very own path.
