Pianist and composer Olga Reznichenko (*1989) formed her current trio in 2018 for her bachelor’s degree concert at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. Since then, she has been continuously active on and off stage with Maximilian Stadtfeld (drums) and Lorenz Heigenhuber (double bass). The repertoire created after the final concert celebrated its public premiere during an engagement at the Hot Club in Lisbon.
During the German lockdowns, the band gave several high-quality streaming concerts, among others at the Cologne LOFT, where the recordings for their debut album were made: Somnambule released in spring 2022 on Traumton Records.
The pieces of the classically trained pianist show strong creative will, playing with influences from classical modernism, minimalism and modern jazz. They combine intuitive approaches with clear ideas about moods and timbres. Complex harmonic and rhythmic structures, subtle and powerful moments as well as melodic points of contact result in a personal aesthetic.
