Sonic Sauté brings together musicians from Germany and USA for a romp of epic proportions. On January 26 of this year, Mottel and Shea flew from NYC to Germany to begin their year as moers improvisors in residence. This performance joins old friends Chen, Eberhard, Neuser, Mottel and Shea with their new friend David Helm. The results will be legendary.

In creative jazz, composition can only be half the story. It depends on the players. Only a good half ["SEMI"] of the music is composed in advance. From then on, improvisation is trusted. New musical material ["SONG"], developed in small bands at the piano, the multiple award-winning jazz composer "Jürgen Friedrich" realizes here for the first time and in extended form for "Large Ensemble".
And what an ensemble it is. Here, musical personalities come together who make their mark in the current discourse. Grouped around a central piano trio, they bring fascinatingly written music to sound and at the same time have room for the development of individual playing art as is rarely the case in large groups.
