With the collaboration of pianist-composer and four-time Grammy Award-winner Billy Childs, poet Paul Calderon, bassist Ben Shepherd, and drummer Donald Barrett, PROPHECY transcends the words and music tradition of the Last Poets, Gil Scott-Heron, the Watts Prophets and others. With Billy Childs on electric piano and synthesizer, PROPHECY frames Calderon's insightful, socially conscious verse and is an innovative mixture of theater, (J)azz-funk, and fusion.
