In 2010, Gonzalez studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and in 2013 he was the recipient of the prestigious Wayne Shorter Award, an honor given to Berklee’s most outstanding jazz composer.
Since his arrival at Berklee, he has studied with jazz masters, Barry Harris, Joanne Brackeen, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, Dave Santoro, George Garzone and Ed Tomassi, and he has performed with artists Eddie Palmieri, Larry Harlow, Ignacio Berroa, Raul Pineda, Jimmy Branly, Christian McBride, Greg Osby, Regina Carter, Bunny Brunel, Dave Liebman, Anat Cohen, and Chad Sexton, and many more.
