Evan Abounassar is a trumpet player and composer born and raised in Southern California. He has had the privilege of studying with the likes of Lewis Nash, Walter Smith III, and Edward Simon and to play all around the US and Japan with organizations such as The Brubeck Institute, Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, and the Grammy Foundation. Some Southern California venues Evan has performed at include stages such as The Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theatre, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as jazz clubs such as Vibrato’s, Catalina’s, and World Stage. Some Southern California venues Evan has performed at include stages such as The Hollywood Bowl, The Greek Theatre, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall as well as jazz clubs such as Vibrato’s, Catalina’s, and World Stage. They will be playing two sets of mostly original music as well as the music of Ornette Coleman. Through this music, Evan hopes to convey an overwhelming sense of humanity and humbleness, apart from technical proficiency, in a time where our humanity is vital not only to the betterment of our societies but to our survival on this Earth.
