A joint venture project between Guo Yazhi, one of the best Chinese wind players on the planet, and award-winning composer Alan Chan, this program is inspired by the Silk Road, weaving between orchestration and spontaneity, and combines the essence not only of the culture of East and West, but also Jazz. This concert will also feature music from his recent "Moon Walk" project, as well as big band version of "Denali World," an ASCAP George Duke Commissioning work for Symphonic Jazz Orchestra.
