Metro Art presents Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight at Union Station, an afternoon of live ambient music at historic Union Station, Sunday, May 19, from 1 pm-4 pm. In collaboration with Leaving Records, the program will feature violinist and vocalist Sudan Moon, sitarist/vocalist Ami Dang, vocalist and composer Ana Roxane and saxophonist Sam Gendel.

Sitarist and vocalist Ami Dang is an ambient artist originally from Baltimore. Her debut album, Hukam, was released in 2011 and her new album, Parted Plains, featuring strictly sitar and electronics, will be released this year on Leaving Records.

Ambient singer and composer Ana Roxane is originally from the Bay Area and has studied jazz and classical music. In October 2018 she came out as intersex and her music explores themes of sex and gender. Her six-song collection, ~ ~ ~, was released on Leaving Records March 15.

Saxophonist Sam Gendel is a California native. In 2018, he released an acclaimed album with bassist Sam Wilkes, Music for Saxofone and Bass. “BOA” (Leaving), one of the tracks, was picked by the Los Angeles Times as one of the essential California songs of 2018.
