This musician conjures the leisurely feel of Milt Jackson, her roomy rambles open up the spiritual spaciousness of Walt Dickerson, and her smooth flair for Latin rhythms recalls Cal Tjader. Allen has found a relaxed and swinging route to success with mallets!" She’s performed in ensembles including Maria Schneider with the Jazz Composer's Alliance, The Jimmy Giuffre Tribute Concert, the L.A Jazz Society's Vibe Summit, and Bob Mintzer at the Disney Jazz Celebration.
