And now for something completely different, courtesy of the LA Phil: an experimental 1991 opera inspired by the metaphysical writings of a 19th-century female British explorer to Tibet -- and made up mostly of wordless vocalizations. Director Yuval Sharon, opera's disrupter in residence (The New York Times), is famed for his site-specific performances, so you'll definitely want to buckle up as Atlas, an opera in three parts takes over Walt Disney Hall.
