Marcel Camargo & Jessica Jeza will open the evening with new material from their forthcoming record, which is a mix of original music, Argentine Tangos, Bach pieces, Brazilian Sambas and Jazz Standards, all in reinvented arrangements. Jess and Marcel have been performing as a duo for over ten years, showing a palpable symbiosis that is wonderful to experience in a live setting.
About ZĂ© Renato
ZĂ© Renato began his career in the famous university music festivals of the early 1970s and in the group Cantares, but it was in 1978 that he earned national recognition with the quartet Boca Livre alongside Claudio Nucci, David Tygel and MaurĂcio Maestro. The quartet revolutionized Brazilian music and has conquered fans of several generations. With Boca Livre, ZĂ© Renato has recorded more than ten albums and toured extensively in Brasil and the world.
ZĂ© Renato launched his solo career in 1982, keeping the Brazilian music tradition but always open to the new, with more than twenty solo albums recorded, not including special projects. The list of performers of his songs includes artists such as Zizi Possi, Leila Pinheiro, Milton Nascimento, Lulu Santos, Joyce Moreno, Jon Anderson (Yes), Nana Caymmi, and MPB-4, among others.
Zé Renato collaborated with Milton Nascimento, one of his major influences, on songs like "Ponto de Encontro" and "Anima". In 1985 Zé Renato was invited by Tom Jobim to collaborate on the soundtrack of the miniseries "O Tempo e o Vento". Later, Tom Jobim was invited to participate on the album “Pegadas” released by Zé Renato in 1990.
In 1987, ZĂ© formed the instrumental and vocal group Zil with Ricardo Silveira and Marcos Ariel, among others; their "Song for the Rainforest" entered the Billboard magazine hit parade. In 1988 ZĂ© Renato joined Al di Meola's band, recording the album "Tiramisu".
Children's albums are also part of Zé Renato’s career; his project "Forró Pras Crianças" received awards in Brazil and was nominated for Best Children's Album in the 2007 Latin Grammy.
The album Pasieros, a collaboration between Boca Livre with the Panamanian artist Rubén Blades has just been nominated to Best Latin Album in the 2023 Grammy Awards and features an incredible team of Brazilian musicians: João Carlos Coutinho, Jorge Helder, Chiquinho Chagas, Jessé Sadoc, Iura Ranevsky, Wanderson do Cavaco, Pantico Rocha, Robertinho Silva, Marcelo Costa, Marcos Suzano and Marçalzinho.
