NOTE: This show will be outdoors on the patio. Cleveland native Peter Sprague was raised in Colorado before moving to California in 1963. He took up guitar at age twelve and formed his first group in high school. He spent a year studying at the Interlochen Arts Academy, and in 1976 moved to Boston to study with Pat Metheny, Madame Chaloff and Albin Czak (who taught Peter classical guitar). In 1978, he formed a groundbreaking jazz group The Dance of the Universe Orchestra. At age 20 he was recording on the Concord Jazz and Xanadu labels. On his debut with the Chick Corea band, LA Times jazz critic, Leonard Feather, wrote “Peter Sprague is one of the emergent great guitarists.” He'll be joined by brother Tripp Sprague on sax/flute and Mack Leighton on bass.
