Roseanna Vitro is a veteran jazz musician who began her professional journey in Houston, Texas, nurtured by Texas Tenor, Arnett Cobb and vocalist, Ray Sullenger. Vitro’s stint at Houston’s Green Room produced two years of ‘live’ radio broadcasts on KUHF-FM, hosting guests each week. After jazz pianist greats Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans sat in with Roseanna’s group, she was inspired to make the move to New York City in the 1980’s. Fred Hersch and Kenny Werner soon became her favored pianists and arrangers, recording three albums with Fred and six with Kenny. A duo album with Kenny Werner is expected later this spring. Ms. Vitro served two tours as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador and has held the Vocal Jazz Chair at NJCU in Jersey City, and NJPAC Jazz for Teens program 1998-2013.
