flapper girl of modern vocal jazz has a reputation synonomous with marrying vintage foundations with contemporary concepts in her rhythmic, daring interpretations of a musical catalogue that expands everything from Swing-Era standards to Post Bop and the avant-garde while interspersing her own prolific compositions. Erin's ability to borrow music from other genres and infuse a jazz treatment has garnered her fans of all ages and musical-collaborators of global renown.

Erin McDougald's "evocative artistry" (-Chicago Music Guide) stems from her multi-octave vocal range, which is enveloped in a warm array of colors that range from clear as a tuning fork to dusty and seductive. Lyricist-composer Gene Lees compared Miss McDougald's malleability this way: "an incredible range with this provacative edge... switches her sound like a chameleon shifts colors... knocks me out". Erin has headlined venues from Chicago to NYC to San Francisco to Paris and almost everywhere in between --with crowds at capacity when she headlined the Heritage Stage at The Chicago Jazz Festival and sold out rooms in formidable venues such as at
The Jazz Showcase, Green Mill, Green Dolphin Street, Smalls, 54 Below and Metroplitan Club, among others.
