Ada Bird Wolfe is a Los Angeles based jazz vocalist. Critics call her "a potent jazz singer," "mesmerizing," "compelling." She will be joined by the extraordinary Jamieson Trotter Quintet including longtime collaborator Jamieson Trotter (musical director/piano), Alan Palmer (saxophones/flute), Ron Stout (trumpet), Dan Lutz (bass), and Peter Buck (drums).

"And the Word Was Mingus" is the second show in Ms. Wolfe's series "Giant Shoulders," which debuted in October 2016 with "Monk-O-Sphere," an exploration of the music of Thelonious Monk.
