Lorraina Marro, honored as a Jazz Living Legend in July of 2015, is authentically original in every area of creativity. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Lorraina Marro has made her mark as a classy, sophisticated and talented jazz vocalist, who is passionate about her music and committed to interpreting songs in her own style.
She has recorded two cds, the first of which is "You Must Believe in Spring" (recorded in 2004), encompassing songs from some of her favorite composers, Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley, Ann Hampton Callaway, George & Ira Gershwin, Lerner & Lowe, and Maury Yeston. Lorraina has performed her own shows at The Metropolitan Room and Danny's Skylight Room in New York; and has performed shows at multiple venues in Los Angeles, including The E Spot Lounge at Vitello's Restaurant, The Catalina Jazz Club, Preston’s, The House of Blues, Nola’s LA, The M Bar, The Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, The Holly St. Bar & Grill, The Cinegrill, The Gardenia, The Bel Age Hotel, the Marriott Hotels, and Wyndham Hotels. She has also performed in Las Vegas for The Special Operations Warriors Foundation at the Four Seasons, The Aladdin, and The Las Vegas Hilton Hotels. Her shows encompass cabaret, jazz and even the songs of Broadway. Her vocals are warm, smooth and sultry. Ms. Marro warms the hearts and souls of each and every member of her audience.
Here's a little something on the musicians:
Bradley Young - pianist/composer/recording artist. Performed his first piano recital at the age of 8 yrs. old. Graduate of Berklee College of Music and accompanist to Chet Baker by his early 20's.
John B. Williams - played bass for the fabulous Nancy Wilson for 25 years. Has also played for The Arsenio Hall show, Bobby Matos, Manhattan Transfer, Natalie Cole, etc. He credits the great Horace Silver for his successful music career.
Allan Walker - composer, arranger, recording artist. Has toured with the likes of the Temptations, The 4 Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Drifters, Little Anthony & The Imperials
Jon Stuart - seasoned drummer/percussionist/teacher who has performed throughout L.A. and Chicago for the past 35 yrs. He has played with the likes of John Beasley, Llew Matthews, Barbara Morrison, Tamir Hendelman, etc.
