Puga Lareo was born and raised in Buenos Aires, a city rich with culture and history, where she started her musical path singing in theaters, clubs, and Jazz festivals. She released her first solo album "Body and Soul" in 2005 and began performing frequently in the New York City jazz scene, where she recorded with legendary bassist Eddie Gomez. She recorded a duet with noted pianist Bob Telson, “Show Me Your Face,” that featured trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Her husband and collaborator Bob Sheppard has worked with a long list of legendary artists including Freddie Hubbard, Chick Corea, Steely Dan, Mike Stern, John Beasley, Randy Brecker, Billy Childs, Peter Erskine.
John Beasley, Multi-GRAMMY® and Emmy Award-nominated pianist, composer, arranger, producer, music director…An uncommonly versatile pianist, he has backed such jazz icons as Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard, Dianne Reeves, Ivan Lins, John Patitucci, Chaka Khan, Christian McBride, Carly Simon, Steely Dan, Lee Ritenour, Somi, A.R. Rahman, and James Brown’s last concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
Highly sought after bassist Darek Oles, a protégé of Charlie Haden…moved to Los Angeles in 1987 from Poland, and some of the musicians he’s played with closely, are Brad Mehldau, Adam Czerwninski, Larry Koonse, Peter Erskine, Bob Mintzer, Alan Pasqua, Kei Akagi, Bill Cunliff, Terry Gibbs, Charles Lloyd, Josh Nelson, Bennie Maupin.
Drummer Mark Ferber has also worked with many, including Lee Konitz, Gary Peacock, Don Byron, Fred Hersch, Tony Malaby, Pete McCann, Matt Pavolka, Michael Attias and Billy Childs.
