Legendary songstress DIONNE WARWICK will introduce one of the most internationally successful Brazilian artists of all time, returning to perform for one night only.
DIONNE will join ELIANA on stage for the song they recorded "Heart of Brazil" (Coraçao do Brazil" by Antonio Adolfo.
Los Angeles, CA – Brazilian Nites Productions presents “An intimate evening with Dionne Warwick and the comeback of Brazilian singer Eliana Estevao” at Bar Fedora / Au Lac on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30pm.
After a 20 year absence from the stage, Eliana Estevao returns for a special performance of songs from both Brazilian and American composers. Her long-time friend and mentor Dionne Warwick joins her on stage to perform one of the most beloved Brazilian jazz and Bossa Nova hit recorded in the past.
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Eliana Estevao has been a singer and entertainer since she was just a toddler. As an adult she performed in a Sao Paolo production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and sang in a variety of Brazilian jazz clubs, where she became a well-known artist and was discovered by Brazilian artist Toquinho. She was chosen to be lead vocalist of the musical review “Oba Oba,” which toured internationally and launched her to world-wide fame.
Eliana Estevao, the Artistic Director of this unique presentation, brings to the stage a variety of songs from Brazilian and American authors with her Brazilian Jazz touch. These include songs from Chalie Chaplin (Smiles), Milton Nascimento, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Sting (Fragil), Joao Bosco, Dori Caymmi, Carmen Miranda (from the Brazilian Music Extravaganza Theater play Oba Oba) and the Heart of Brazil (Coraçao do Brazil) by Antonio Adolfo, recorded with Dionne Warwick among others.
Musicians: Marcos Ariel on keyboards, Eduardo Del Signore on bass,
Ron Wagner on drums, Freddy Ramos on guitar.
“I first came to Brazil in the Sixties. Then I started coming back every year since touring most of the country. I grew to love it, the people, the music. I thought this is where I belong. I've been living in Brazil for the past 23 years. I call it my stress-free country.” Dionne Warwick
Tickets: $35 ($45 at the door if available) per show. All ages welcome.
