On Sunday, September 9th, Project Popular returns to the Upstairs lounge at Vitello’s in Studio City for the first time since our 2011 CD release show. The show starts at 7:30 PM, and the doors open at 6:30. Come check out some new music and enjoy the great food and drinks. Featuring Tom Luer on saxophones, Andy Langham on piano, Andrew Synowiec on guitar, Dan Schnelle on drums, and Alex Frank on bass.
Project Popular performs a mix of originals and arrangements of popular music.
Tom Luer and Project Popular
Project Popular is a collection of some of the brightest jazz musicians in Los Angeles. The ensemble performs jazz arrangements of modern pop music, which includes music by Alicia Keys, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Prince, Gnarles Barkley, Radiohead, and more. The group is led by saxophonist Tom Luer, a freelance musician who resides in Los Angeles. Tom’s touring credits include Queen Latifah and Engelbert Humperdinck. Additional performance credits include Patrizio Buanne, Poncho Sanchez, The Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band, Wayne Bergeron Big Band, the Bill Holman Band, and the Mike Barone Big Band. Television appearances include the 2007 American Music Awards, the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, and the Ellen DeGeneres show....
