Arco Belo brings together elements of raw, contemporary improvised music, mixing in crisp-though-composed pockets of sweeping dense harmony and a global rhythmic sensibility. At The Back Room, the group promotes the release of the first single from its debut album, The Space Between Disguises.

Arco Belo is an original chamber-jazz project led by pianist, accordionist, and composer Simone Baron, featuring a rhythm section composed of Lucas Ashby and Steve Arnold. The group skips effortlessly from long-form, neo-baroque string counterpoint to sludgy hip-hop pads; post-romantic cadenzas collide in moments of spontaneous noise with reedy prepared piano; guttural bow noises and cascading plectrum bring color to plush hypnotic grooves and sharply angled linear phrases....
