Dan Plonsey's Backyard
The actual backyard, seen from under an aging willow tree: yellow lemons against a backdrop of a pink and moss green house. Weeds nearly hiding a striped lawn chair, bricks jumbled, large strange leafy things I must uproot, mint, little white flowers, a bush with red berries, a plastic bookshelf, and a bit of a breeze blowing through. I started humming some of this music here, with all the little houses and barely visible people of the Northern Hills of El Cerrito in the background.
