Wayne Shorter's seminal recording Native Dancer (1974) was a collaborative effort with the legendary Brazilian musician Milton Nascimento and featured a collection of groundbreaking compositions such as Ponta de Areia (Nascimento), Milagro dos Peixes (Brant, Nascimento) as well as Shorter's exceptionally poignant Ana Maria. In this concert, pianist/composer Anne Sajdera and her sextet will perform selections from this recording in addition to original compositions inspired specifically by the depth of Shorter's and Nascimento's masterful music.
