Green’s trio, including bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm, were a featured group at the San Jose Jazz Summer Festival this year. They have also performed at the Blue Whale in Los Angeles, TEDxSanDiego, UC San Diego, Cal Arts at CSU Monterey Bay, the Museum of Making Music, Jazz88.3’s Jazz Live, the KSDS Ocean Beach Jazz Festival, Shapeshifter Lab in NYC, and many other prominent venues and festivals.

In a lecture intended for both musicians and non-musicians, Green shares his experience as a composer, covering a wide range of topics: channeling inspiration, balancing musical intuition with musical theory, utilizing technology, shaping compositions through arrangement, and notating for different instrumentations.

Green, Grinnell, and Cantelm demonstrate how musicians bring a musical score to life. Each musician shares his individual approach to interpreting music from a score and perform live examples.
