About
The emerging jazz group iiii is joined by William O’Daly, award-winning poet and acclaimed translator of Chilean Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda, for a transcendent evening of poetry and jazz. Featuring Laila M. Smith on vocals, Paul Bloom on piano, Connor Schultze on bass, Jeremy Dutton on drums and poet William O’Daly.
The group iiii, which Anthony Dean-Harris, Editor in Chief of NESTBOP.COM recently reviewed as “a group of pure radiance,” mix their jazz training (Manhattan School of Music, Brubeck Institute, New School, and New England Conservatory) with pop, singer and songwriter, and R&B influences to forge a new and captivating sound. In 2013, iiii recorded and released its self-titled debut album of original songs. The group —Laila M. Smith, Paul Bloom, Connor Schultze, and Jeremy Dutton — also released an EP, Run iiii Cover, which includes versions of songs by Marvin Gaye, Jessie Ware, and Al Green. In addition to performing and recording, the group works together to share its love for music by giving workshops, clinics, and presentations. iiiimusic.com/album...
