John Schott’s Actual Trio, featuring Dan Seamans and John Hanes, is “one of the Bay Area’s most brilliant diamonds,” according to Jazz Times.

All acknowledged masters on their instruments, the Actual Trio have spent years playing together in the studio and on the road, forging a singular group voice in the crowded world of modern guitar-oriented Jazz. The group has had a five-year gig at the Actual Cafe in Oakland, tours on the East and West coasts, a festival performance at SFJazz, and a critically acclaimed debut CD on John Zorn’s Tzadik label.

Paul de Barros of the Seattle Times writes, “With a bright and bold, slightly twangy sound, Schott grazes rock, blues, Thelonious Monk and James 'Blood' Ulmer with lithe, original, single-note lines full of swing, surprise and humor. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at the link below, or at the door the night of the show. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).
