Interweaving the songs with narration, Melanie’s riveting performance, which garnered 4-star reviews at the international Edinburgh Fringe Festival, brings new life to the memory of the great jazz vocalist, as captured in the iconic 1958 Newport Jazz Festival, in which she commanded the band and audience with an authority rarely seen in women of her day.
