About

Shimpei Ogawa is a jazz bass player, originally from Japan. Studied with Jeff Denson, Scott Thompson, and Sascha Jacobsen. Has performed with Akira Tana, Dann Zinn, Terrence Brewer, Faye Carol, and the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra. Won the Outstanding Rhythm Section prize in the Reno Jazz Festival and awarded in the Jazz Search West Competition in 2018.
