Rooted in songwriting but never far from improvisation, his work often nods to his Northern California upbringing in Nevada City while staying deeply connected to the vibrant Bay Area music scene.Performing under the name Edwards Crossing until 2016, DI LEO relocated to Oakland — partially just to see Golden Drugs live — and quickly found himself immersed in a new creative community. In 2020, after years performing with Zelma Stone and Sun Kin he released his debut solo album You Wanted to Listen from Outside My Room I Guess – a chaotic, genre bending record with several Bay Area artist features. That same year, he co-founded Left Tracks, a collaborative duo with Kabir Kumar (Sun Kin), and released their debut EP End Times Hauling.In the years following the pandemic, DI LEO supported Oakland artist Madeline Kenny and released his second solo EP Half Rest — a meditation on the strange double-edged stillness of lockdown. Around the same time, his longtime band Seemway released their EP As it Stands.Now, DI LEO returns to the heart of his craft with two forthcoming records: LT2, the second Left Tracks EP, and a new solo album.
