SCOTT H. BIRAM IS THE DIRTY OLD ONE MAN BANDRestavrant!/Ërest(É)rÉnt,ËrestÉËränt,ËreËstränt/â"I gave myself the name 'Restavrant' as a one-man band years ago, playing banjo and bottleneck slide guitar, never thinking it would stick with me for all these years. It was a joke--mocking the idea of giving my one man band a band name. I didn't think there would be any live shows on the horizon... just house parties and street corners. Then, my drummer got involved and we created a little buzz about town, and surprisingly, legit venues started asking to book us. I tried to change the name at this point, but the venues and the label we had signed with at the time said it was too late. 'People already know you as that dumb name.' ..Haha, ok ..Anyway, at this point our whole approach to playing music at first was trying 'to create a party... by combining music genres throughout history that were known to us to get the party started! Old Mississippi hill country juke joint blues, punk rock, hip hop, and even throw in a bit of techno dance beats. Now, my approach to music making has only slightly changed. Tyler (my drummer, the other half of the band) and I still bring as much energy to live shows as possible, but the 'fuck it' attitude is not as âin your faceâ as it was... itâs just a bit more mature, the crazy is more calculated, I guess. Now, there is a goal to create music with lasting integrity. We may still get loose, but we have a bit more control to our chaos.â-Troy Murrah of Restavrant
