In this workshop, weÕll explore the vocabulary of pianist Wynton Kelly Ñ one of the most well-known hard bop pianists and sought-after accompanist for artists from the mid-50s until the late 60s. First, weÕll take a look at his voicings and then his lines playing Ñ specifically over the blues, Autumn Leaves, and other standards. The playing concepts considered in this workshop will be highly applicable to playing in a regular combo setting.
