Celebrate the Bay Area’s own rich Latin Jazz heritage, cultivated by Cal Tjader, as Steve McQuarry presents Tribu for two dates in April. Tribu performs 7-10 pm on Saturdays, April 15th and 29th at Chalaca Annexo, 428 Third Street (@ Broadway) in Oakland. Tribu fuses Latin rhythms with West Coast Jazz, re-interpreting the traditional sounds of Mongo Santamaria and Machito, accented by fresh Peruvian cuisine. No cover charge.
