Celebrate the Bay Area’s own rich Latin Jazz heritage, cultivated by Cal Tjader, as Steve McQuarry presents Tribu for two dates in March. Tribu performs 7-10pm on 18th and 31st at Chalaca Annexo, 428 Third Street (@ Broadway) in Oakland. Tribu fuses Latin rhythms with West Coast Jazz, re-interpreting the traditional sounds of Mongo Santamaria and Machito, accented by fresh Peruvian cuisine. No cover charge.
