Michael Orenstein "aperture" Release Party at California Jazz Conservatory

Hot off the release of his debut record, pianist Michael Orenstein brings a 7-piece band to the CJC for this rare Berkeley appearance. Comprised mostly of LA-based musicians originally from the Bay Area, Orenstein's band plays the music from Aperture, a collection of "surprising and dynamic" original music, as well as modern takes on Coltrane and Hancock (Origin Records).
