Maye Cavallaro Bio
Vocalist Maye Cavallaro has been singing classic songs since she discovered her Mother's "Sing Along with Mitch" records at age 6. By the age of nine she began borrowing from her brother's collection of vintage blues, at 10 she began studying piano, and by 12 was a huge fan of Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday, Esther Phillips and Ray Charles. Her eclectic and wide ranging musical tastes have continued to encompass jazz, modern pop and rock, as well as cabaret and world music.
A warm, charismatic stage performer and accomplished musician, Maye has traveled extensively in Japan and the U.S., both performing and teaching. She has appeared in the San Francisco Bay Area extensively at clubs such as Yoshi's, The JazzSchool, Angelicaís, and The Sound Room, among others. For 5 years Maye performed weekly at the Compass Rose in the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco with her trio and for another 5 years at the Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill. Maye is on the faculty of the innovative Jazzschool in Berkeley, CA., teaching stagecraft and jazz singing and is a mentor for the Concert Preparation and Performance series. For the last 3 years she has been teaching a series of ìComposer Workshopsî featuring music from the American Songbook. Sheís produced 3 CDís released on the Redhead Records label.

DENNY BERTHIAUME,
piano, grew up outside Washington D.C. and Chicago. He is the only non-California native in the group although San Francisco is his home. He has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Diane Schuur, Joe Williams, Ed Thigpen, Stan Getz, k.d.lang, and Joan Rivers. He recorded 4 albums as co-leader of the successful fusion group Solar Plexus. He has appeared at jazz festivals in Monterey, the Russian River, San Jose, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He was professor in literature and music at Foothill College in Los Altos, California (1970-2004) and a published playwright.
