Karin Carson is a highly talented and appealing jazz singer. As the granddaughter of jazz trumpeter Peter Sirna, a San Diego pioneer in the 1950s and '60s, Miss Carson grew up around music. Even early on in life, Miss Carsonís talents proved to extend beyond that of a vocalist. What started out as child-like fun; organizing youth events, puppet shows, and choirs evolved. She has held positions with Jazz 88.3 FM, Stanford Jazz Workshop and the Monterey Jazz Festival. She has shown herself to be an avid, spokeswoman, and activist for the music she so dearly loves....

Her debut album The Time Is Now teamed Karin with a brilliant rhythm section featuring Christian McBride, Gregory Hutchinson and Joshua White. DENNY BERTHIAUME,
piano, grew up outside Washington D.C. and Chicago. He is the only non-California native in the group although San Francisco is his home. He has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Diane Schuur, Joe Williams, Ed Thigpen, Stan Getz, k.d.lang, and Joan Rivers. He recorded 4 albums as co-leader of the successful fusion group Solar Plexus. He has appeared at jazz festivals in Monterey, the Russian River, San Jose, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He was professor in literature and music at Foothill College in Los Altos, California (1970-2004) and a published playwright.
