John R. Burr has been one of the most in-demand piano players in the Bay Area for almost three decades. He toured for many years with Grammy-winning banjoist/guitarist Alison Brown in addition to stints with Maria Muldaur, Spang-a-lang, and multi-instrumentalist Joe Craven. He is the favorite accompanist of numerous singers and instrumentalists spanning jazz, folk, and pop. His imaginative, melodic, and sophisticated soloing have made him a favorite collaborator with many Bay Area musicians.
These two musicians together create something deeply musical and emotionally powerful. They have a musical chemistry that is as satisfying and entertaining as it is rare. Their interaction is filled with warmth, virtuosity, passion, and wit and, when the situation calls for it, they can burn down the house.
