It's going to be loud, fast, free and without a net. François Constantin invites you to join him for a special Jazz Fusion jam session, with a first hour of concert in a tight but formidably effective formation. At his side are three musicians with impressive backgrounds and infectious energy: Christophe Cravero, on piano and violin, capable of bringing out both lyricism and fire; Michel Alibo, groove monster, historic bassist with the group Sixun and a central figure in the genre; Stéphane Huchard, drummer with a cutting edge, always on the edge between power and precision. Together, they revisit the spirit of jazz fusion, a movement born in the late ‘60s in the tradition of Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew period, early Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra. The music borrows its raw energy from rock, its syncopated rhythms from funk, and its taste for improvisation and collective play from jazz. In France, the genre has also found its voice with groups like Sixun and Prysm, whose members, including Michel Alibo, have left their mark on several generations. A music of freedom, sometimes excess, but always of dialogue and code-breaking. After this first quartet section, the stage opens up for jamming. The fusion continues, this time with musicians from the audience. No rules, except that of listening and daring......
