Dave Bass Afro-cuban Sextet at Sacramento Masonic Temple

It’s a special treat to have my Afro-Cuban Sextet invited by the vital and important Sacramento Jazz Co-op to perform in their concert series.

At this June 18 concert, I’ll focus on the pure Afro-Cuban tradition and have assembled a powerful ensemble as well-suited for listening as for dancing on the Masonic Temple’s spacious dance floor. Hailing from Cuba are Ernesto Mazar Kindelan (acoustic bass), Mario Salomon (Mayito) (timbales), and Carlos Caro (bongo/perc.). Hailing from the Bay Area are David Frazier (conga/perc.) and Jeff Sanford (saxes, clarinet and flute), and on piano yours truly will be hanging on for dear life.
