The winner of six Grammy awards and a 2011 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, New Orleans native Dr. John has had a long and storied career matched only by his life experience. Combining blues, jazz, R&B, funk, boogie woogie and psychedelic rock and roll into a unique gumbo, Dr. John has recorded more than 20 albums, including legendary projects like Gris-Gris and Right Time, Wrong Place. “The Night Tripper” is still charging headfirst into new projects, including 2012’s Locked Down (produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach), which is a keen reminder that there is plenty of funk left in the tank of this legend.
