Habanera Bandits are a Jazz Quintet playing Clave Inspired Jazz from Trad to Rad. Featuring Matt Langley on Saxes, Phil Kember on Trombone, Joe Carlson on Guitars, Scott Parawlsky on the Bass and Tim Bulkley on the drums. Why Tuesday night!?!? Because there's nothing else to do in Nevada County on Tuesday night and it's a nod to Fat Tuesday and Jazz's New Orleans heritage. You'll hear tunes from Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Charles Mingus, Smokey Johnson on up to Bill Frisell and Larry Goldings and many others. It's a fun, early hang at the Fern (formerly Cooper's and The Brick but now under new management) with some fine libations and rumors of some munchies too!
