“Kendrick Scott has become the Art Blakey, Elvin Jones and Tony Williams of his generation,” says renowned trumpeter and bandleader Terence Blanchard. Scott’s longtime band, Oracle, builds on the legacy of Blanchard and Blakey’s bands, creating a community that allows individual musicians to find their own voice. The group’s debut Blue Note album, We Are the Drum, featured compositions by each of the bandmembers, and its newest release continues the growth and experimentation that keep Oracle at the forefront of the way jazz is played today.
