The contrabass is one of the most expressive, rich, and dynamic solo instruments. Pairing solo, duo, trio, quintet and sextet, this concert will explore the bass' range of form and feeling and includes: music by resident artist Mark Dresser, video imagery by Jeff Kaiser, a tribute to Stefano Scodanibbio and Steve Lacy, and solos set to sculptor Robert Taplin's Five Outer Planets and Sarah Jane Lapp's Chronicles of an Asthmatic Stripper.
