A Silent Film with Live Musical Performance by WYNTON MARSALIS and CECILE LICAD. Prelude Interview hosted by Robert John Hughes · 6 PM. In this very special evening, jazz icon Wynton Marsalis joins renowned pianist Cecile Licad and a 10-piece all-star jazz ensemble to perform a score comprised primarily of Marsalis' own compositions to accompany the film Louis. This silent film from 2010 is an homage to Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplin, and the birth of American music, directed by Dan Pritzker and starring Jackie Earle Haley, Shanti Lowry, and Anthony Coleman.
