He needs no introduction to the Blues world as he traveled over 11 countries with his music and photography. During his 2010 Europe tour, he was given the title โHimalayan Hendrixโ by the Norwegian and German press. He started his music journey in 1994 with the Ashesh & Nekhvam trio playing evening venues in Thamel, Kathmandu while working a day job as a photographer for local newspapers and magazines till 2010. He has headlined several major international music festivals, such as Kathmandu Blues Festival (Kathmandu, Nepal) and North Meets South Music Festival (Bhaktapur, Nepal) in 2006, Alamar 2007 Music Festival (Almeria, Spain), Blues and Balance Festival 2010 (Helgeland, Norway), Fauskivalen Music Festival 2010 (Hemsedal, Norway), Edinburg Mela Festival 2011 (Edinburg, Scotland), Itโs All Gravey Festival 2011 (Sussex, England), Herzberg Festival 2011(Hamburgh, Germany), and awarded by Colorado Music Business Organization in 2015 for his contribution in music.Ashesh started his United States tour with the slogan Searching for the Blues" in 2017 playing venues on the East Coast and the South. In 2019, he came back and continued touring in the South and the Southeast including his solo shows such as the Himalayan Hendrix in Lala land in Clarksdale Mississippi, and the East Met the West at the Roberts Hall, Panama City, Florida. In early 2020, he played in Rum Booggie International Blues Jam during International Blues Challengein Rum Booggie, Bale Street, Memphis, Tennessee. On September 3, 2022, Ashesh released his sixth album โAll Those Beautiful Dreamsโ in the Theatre of Rastriya Naach Ghar, Kathmandu, Nepal. This album reflects his exploration of Blues and his journey in the United States between 2017 and 2020.Ashesh has always been involved in social issues and believes in Art with activism. During the massive Earthquake in 2015 Nepal, he, his band and family members actively helped victims day in and day out for six months building temporary shelters and donating food, clothes, and medicine. In 2016, he toured Norway with the slogan Pray and Play for Nepal with support from Reis Nepal. Likewise, during Covid-19 Corona Virus Pandemic outbreak, he continued the project Blues for A Cause through Facebook virtual Live Series with Blues Artists around the world. The reason behind organizing this event is to heal the world and panicked souls through music with the help and support of Blues artists. More than 54 different Bands/ Artists from different parts of the world including NEPAL, USA, JAPAN, NORWAY, INDIA, CHILE, ARGENTINA, MEXICO, AUSTRALIA, PARAGUAY, COLOMBIA, BOLIVIA, ECUADOR, PERU, BRAZIL, SERBIA, etc. participated in the virtual live show in the Blues for A Cause Facebook live series hosted by Ashesh in 2020 and 2021.
