If you like listening to good music in an intimate room filled with books, then bring yourself and a friend or two and listen to the amalgamation of Indian Raga with Jazz and R&B. Bird and Beckett has always been more than a neighborhood bookstore. It hosts music concerts regularly. Come experience the scent of the books with the earthiness of the music.

Our group explores ways to combine Jazz and R&B with traditional South Asian songs and ragas while preserving their rich sound textures and melodic harmonies. Musicians
Ajaya Davidson has been a creator of original chant and raga-based music for voice, keyboard, and mrdangam with Siddha Yoga Path in India and USA.

Charles Thomas - bass player, a former member of Esther Phillips's band, and renowned San Francisco group Pride and Joy, a composer, arranger, and producer.

Divya P Vyas is a vocalist from a family of musicians in Mumbai, India. She has continued learning Hindustani classical music from Sukhawat Ali Khan and also from Rita Sahai (Ph.D.)

Jun Ishimuro is behind Qb Moda Jazz( SoundCloud) jazz flutist and a producer from SF born in Tokyo Japan. Student of Hindustani classical music artist, Sukhawat Ali Khan.

Ryan Melnick is a producer and musician, making music under the moniker R-Tist R.

Guest singers
Lekshmi Satheesh Nair learned Hindustani and Carnatic music from Guru Smt. Mahalakshmi Ramachandran and Guru Smt. Geeta Kalyanaraman. Her singing style constantly evolves and she doesn’t follow one school of training in particular.
Madhurranjan Mohaan is a Hindustani vocalist who teaches the form to many others aspiring to learn.
