Denise Perrier at Feinstein's At The Nikko

Growing up listening to recordings of Billie Holiday, San Francisco's own Denise Perrier began singing at an early age. She was soon discovered by Louis Armstrong when he saw her sing in her first professional gig with a vocal ensemble called The Intervals whom he added to his show in Las Vegas, thus starting Perrier's professional career. She toured extensively in Australia, Singapore, the Phillipines, Vietnam, France, Italy, Brazil and Russia.

Her fifth and most recent CD is "Denise Perrier and the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra' recorded live in Russia. Her other releases include "The Second Time Around," "I Wanna Be Loved" with Houston Person, "East Meets West" and "Live at Yoshi's; Blue Monday Party" and was featured on Jack McDuff's Grammy nominated "Color Me Blue" with George Benson and other jazz greats....

Denise has a special talent for portraying jazz legends from the past. She portrayed Bessie Smith in the musical revues "In the House of Blues" and "One Mo' Time" Her most recent presentation, "Unforgettable Dinah" is an exploration of Dinah Washington's music.
