Bassist Prell got his start in L.A. in the 1950s, traveling for several years as a member of the Bud Shank Quartet. His group for his monthly Bird & Beckett date (on the 1st Friday of each month) features reedman Jerry Logas, pianist Jeremy Lieber and drummer Vinnie Rodriguez.
