Still in his 20s, trumpeter and bandleader Etienne Charles has already recorded three impressive and well-received albums for his own Culture Shock Music imprint. His highly acclaimed work, Creole Soul, is a captivating journey of new jazz expression which taps into a myriad of styles rooted in his Afro-Caribbean background, from calypso to Haitian voodoo music, with hints of reggae, Motown and R&B. Having performed with a wide range of musicians from Roberta Flack to Wynton Marsalis, the versatile Charles leads his sextet in their first performance at the Bach.
