Inspired by the Classical Ragas and rhythms of India, Facing East combines World music with modern Jazz. Leader and bansuri flutist John Wubbenhorst has a long history with Classical Indian music, including decades of study with the great maestro, Hariprasad Chaurasia. John has also performed with western greats Jack DeJohnette, Victor Wooten, and Paul McCandless. He’s joined on stage by Jim Santi Owen on tabla and percussion, E. Doctor Smith on electronic zendrum, Steve McQuarry on keyboards, and Jason Everett on 7-string fretless bass.
